Privacy Policy

Introduction

At Little Labs, we take your family's privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our apps, including Little Planner. We are committed to being transparent about our data practices, collecting as little as possible, and giving you control over your information.

Little Planner is designed for children, and we have built it to collect no personal information about your child and to keep everything your child enters on your own device.

Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information needed to operate and improve the app. Specifically:

Analytics and performance data (via Google Firebase). We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, provided by Google, to understand how the app is used and to detect crashes so we can fix them. Through these services we collect:

• App usage events — for example, that a routine was started or completed, or which screens are used. These describe actions, never the content your child enters.
• Country-level location — derived from your internet (IP) address. We do not store your IP address, and we do not collect city-level or precise location.
• Technical information about the app and device — app version, operating-system version, device language, and platform (iOS or Android).
• Crash diagnostics — when the app crashes or hits an error, we collect technical details (such as the screen you were on, counts like how many profiles exist, and the app state) to diagnose the problem. These diagnostics contain no names and no personal information.
• Install attribution — if you arrive at the app through a link from one of our other apps, we may record which app referred you (a campaign tag), so we understand how families find us.

Information you provide when contacting support. If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to include in that message.

What we do NOT collect

To be precise about what we deliberately avoid:

• No advertising identifiers. We do not collect the advertising ID (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android).
• No device-tracking identifiers. We do not collect IDFV (iOS) or SSAID (Android).
• No precise or city-level location.
• No names or content your child enters. Your child's name, custom routines, and task text are never sent to our analytics or to any server. (See "Information Stored Only on Your Device" below.)
• No advertising or behavioral profiling of any kind.

Analytics events are linked only to a pseudonymous app-instance identifier generated by Firebase. This is a first-party analytics identifier, not an advertising identifier, and it can be reset on your device.

Information Stored Only on Your Device

Some information stays entirely on your device and is never transmitted to us or anyone else:

• Your child's name, if you choose to provide one (a profile can be created without a name).
• The routines, tasks, and progress you and your child create.

This information is stored locally for the app to function. It is not uploaded, not synced, and not part of our analytics.

A note on future features. We may, in the future, offer an optional "family linking" feature that would let you sync your family's profiles and routines across your own devices. This feature is not active. If we offer it, we will update this Privacy Policy to describe exactly how that data is handled, and we will ask for your explicit consent before any such information leaves your device.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect only to:

• Provide, maintain, and operate the app.
• Understand how the app is used so we can improve it.
• Detect, diagnose, and fix crashes and errors.
• Understand how families discover our apps.

We promote our own Little Labs apps within our apps (for example, telling Little Planner users about Little Timer). This is first-party promotion of our own products — it is not third-party advertising, and it does not involve sharing your data with anyone.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for behavioral or targeted advertising. We do not share your data with third parties for their own purposes.

How the App Tailors Cross-Promotion

The app may check whether other Little Labs apps (such as Little Timer) are already installed on your device, so it can avoid promoting an app you already have. This is a simple presence check — it tells the app only "yes/no, is this other app here." No identifier is collected and nothing about this check is transmitted.

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Little Planner is a child-directed app, so the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) applies, regardless of the app's age rating.

Our data collection relies on COPPA's "support for the internal operations" exception. Under this exception, the pseudonymous analytics identifier described above may be collected without verifiable parental consent because it is used solely to operate and improve the app — and never to contact a child, build a behavioral profile, or serve targeted advertising. We collect no advertising identifier, no device-tracking identifier, no ad-personalization signals, and we transmit none of the content your child enters.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. A child's name, if provided, stays on your device and is never sent to us.

Parental rights. As a parent or guardian, you have the right to review the information associated with your use of the app, to request its deletion, and to refuse further collection. Your Rights and Choices (GDPR and General)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to your use of the app.

• Lawful basis. We process the analytics data described above on the basis of legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) — operating and improving our app. Because the processing is minimal and low-risk (we do not retain your IP address, we store only country-level location, we use no advertising identifier, and we do no profiling), this basis does not require prior consent.
• No personal data retained at rest. We do not store your IP address; it is used only momentarily to derive your country and then discarded.
• Your rights. You have the right to access, delete, or object to the processing of your data. You can:
  • Reset your analytics data on your device at any time (this clears the pseudonymous app-instance identifier).
  • Request deletion of associated analytics data by contacting us at hello@littlelabs.co, and we will process your request.

Data Handling and Security

• Data transmitted to our analytics and crash-reporting services is encrypted in transit.
• We do not sell your data and we serve no third-party advertising.
• Data retention. Event-level and user-level analytics data is retained for 14 months. Aggregate, non-identifying statistics (such as total installs over time) may be retained longer.
• We implement appropriate security measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-Party Services

The app uses Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics), provided by Google, as described above. Your use of these services is subject to Google's handling of the data it processes on our behalf. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes — for example, if we activate the optional family-linking feature described above — we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, obtain your consent before the change takes effect.
